Issue/Introduction

When a shutdown of CA 11 occurs, message  U11D-0450-8 REPLY 'C' TO CONTINUE, OR 'F' TO FORCE DB TASK SHUTDOWN is issued.  'C' reply should be made if shutdown should wait until active jobs complete.  'F' reply should be made for an immediate shutdown.

Environment

Release :

Component : CA-11

Resolution

When CA 11 is shut down you may see the following messages occurs:

U11D-0450-F THESE xxxx APPLICATIONS STILL ACTIVE:

U11D-0450-8 REPLY 'C' TO CONTINUE, OR 'F' TO FORCE DB TASK SHUTDOWN

A DBAS I/O task will not shut down until all requests from users who were active at

the time that shutdown was initiated are completed. If such user jobs must finish, reply C

to the message.    A reply of 'C' will allow CA 11 to wait until active jobs complete before the

shutdown will occur.  A reply of 'F' will allow for immediate shutdown of CA 11. Any job that

is active and is still in the U11RMS step will receive U0999 and should be submitted as a

normal run. Any job beyond the U11RMS step will continue to run, however CA 11 will not

track the job for the duration of that run. If an abend occurs, a manual restart of the job will

be required.
