In preparation to upgrade z/OS 2.1 to z/OS 2.3, we converted SMTP to CSSMTP. Sending email from Web Viewer failed after this conversion. Here’s the explanation from our network group : SMTP had the ability of acting as an email client, sending only to another email server like MS Exchange, or acting as an email server, accepting email from another email client, in this case the Web Viewer, and forwarding on to another email server, like MS Exchange. The email server functions of SMTP have been discontinued in CSSMTP, so the only recourse, going forward, is to change the reference to the Web Viewer app, from bbbb.abc.com, to usmxrelay.abc.com.
Broadcom needs to enable CSSMTP support.
Release : 12.1
Component : WEB VIEWER FOR ALL PLATFORMS
Support for CSSMTP / CCSMTP is an enhancement request for 12.1 Web Viewer and that would be difficult to get approved. Content Viewer 14 (new GA release (Incremental) of Web Viewer which eliminates DRAS and CCI) does not support, and is not applicable for, CSSMTP in the manner it communicates with email client applications.
