Issue/Introduction

Increasing the length of the SQLSTMT from (OF=A4000,PF=A4000) to (OF=A32000,PF=A32000)  causes an AbendS0C4 in the job.  Does IDB2 impose any line length limitation?

Cause

A line length limitation of ~30K is imposed.

Resolution

There is a limit of 32K on an internal collection buffer. However, this buffer also contains some universally collected data, so in practice the available space is ~30K per report line. 

Additional Information

In r20, there has been added extra internal checks to enforce this limit, thus preventing the S0C4 abend.
