Issue/Introduction

We are looking to take down the Report Server to allow for DB2 maintenance on the Report server database.

We would be issuing the following prior to the DB2 maintenance

OPER RSERVER NOTRACK

OPER RSERVER STOP

I am looking to use CYBRSS03 to synchronize the the History file with the Report Server Database after we complete the maintenance.

What steps do I need to take with the History file before I run CBYRSS03 to ensure I don't miss updates to the History file while CYBRSS03 is running? Do I need

to quiesce ESP and close HISTFILE before running?

Resolution

In order to re-synch Reports Server from History File you would want to run CYBRSS03. This is found in the Sample library for ESP. There is no need to quiesce ESP or close the HISTFILE. Reason being is you are not updating the HISTFILE. During the History file maintenance job you are pulling records and then writing back records to the HISTFILE. You do not want activiry during this time. Runninig CYBRSS03 is basically running a History Report and pulling records and placing them in Report Server database.
