During Vantage's start the Auto Restore Manager (ARM) and the CA DISK Restore Log connect to the files data sets defined in the Vantage CONFIG or PARMLIB member.
In case the MUF address space is shutdown and restarted or if the MUF address space is shutdown and the shadow MUF takes over, this is not recognized by Auto Restore Manager (ARM) or the CA DISK Restore Log. This results in message
DB00502E - REQUEST ERROR - RETURN CODE 86 (004)
followed by multiple messages -
VAN1402E The CA Disk Multi-User Facility is not currently available
Component : CA Vantage Storage Resource Manager
For Auto Restore Manager (ARM):
Before shutdown of the MUF issue F SAMS,ARM,SUSPEND and after restart or after the shadow move took over confirmed by message "DB02337I - SHADOW MUF WAIT COMPLETE, TAKEOVER", issue F SAMS,ARM,RESUME.
For the Restore Log:
Add parameter RSTFDALC(Y) to the VKGPARM member to have the Restore Log to deallocate the Files data sets between recalls. For more information about the RSTFDALC parm, please see the VKGPARMS Parameter Descriptions E to R (Inclusive).
Alternatively, before shutdown of the MUF issue F SAMS,RSTMON,FREEFILES. The next Restore log request will automatically re-connect to the active MUF.
