GET specification for REST queries in Policy Xpress - Identity Manager

Issue/Introduction

This article explains why the GET option is not available in the Action elements of Policy Xpress and provides the correct location for its configuration.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.5 & 15

Cause

The Policy Xpress architecture separates data retrieval from task execution. The Action tab is reserved for state-changing operations (POST, PUT, DELETE), while data retrieval (GET) must be configured in the Data tab to allow the system to process information before acting upon it.

Resolution

1. Navigate to the Policy Xpress configuration.
2. Select the Data tab.
3. Configure the REST Query by specifying the GET operation.
4. Retrieve the required data elements.
5. (Optional) Reference the retrieved data in the Action tab for subsequent task steps.
