Issue/Introduction

When trying to log in to DevTest workstation using LDAP credentials. Multiple logfiles generated from multiple services. Problem persists until all services stopped, IAM Java process killed, and then services restarted.

Cause

Cause the other service components to go down and not allow Workstations to connect to the Registry.

Environment

Release : 10.4

Component : CA Application Test

Resolution

Add the following <validation> tag in the standalone.xml (<DevTest-home>/IdentityAccessManager/standalone/configuration/standalone.xml) , in the MSSQL datasource tag: Its added right after <security> tag.

         <validation>

                      <valid-connection-checker class-name="org.jboss.jca.adapters.jdbc.extensions.mssql.MSSQLValidConnectionChecker"></valid-connection-checker>

                      <background-validation>true</background-validation>

                      <check-valid-connection-sql>select 1</check-valid-connection-sql>

                      <exception-sorter class-name="org.jboss.jca.adapters.jdbc.extensions.mssql.MSSQLExceptionSorter"/>

        </validation>

With this IAM will try to auto-reconnect to DB when it comes back to running status there will not be any need of restarting any components.
