Issue/Introduction

Different Java related errors are occurring after silently pushing out a new version of Open Workbench and Microsoft Project Interface on the same computer. 

Environment

Release : All PPM Releases

Component : CA PPM MICROSOFT PROJECT (MSP)

Resolution

The required Java version for either the MSP Interface or Open Workbench is automatically installed along with the corresponding Schedule Connect. If the required Java is missing, the MSP Interface and/or Open Workbench may not work. 

• If the MSP Interface is the 32 bit version, the Schedule Connect component needs to be installed/upgraded only once as it will be shared with the 32 bit version of Open Workbench. 
• If the MSP Interface is the 64 bit version, install/upgrade Schedule Connect twice as one will be the 64 bit version needed for the MSP interface and the other will be the 32 bit version needed for Open Workbench.
