In the documentation for UIM, there is a mention of a DB2 probe. Can it monitor DB2 instance running on a IBM Z/OS mainframe?
Release : 9.0.2
Component : UNIFIED INFRASTRUCTURE MGMT
The db2 probe is not supported for zOS/Mainframe. Please feel free to enter an Idea in the Broadcom Community for DX Infrastructure Manager a.k.a. CA UIM at:
UIM Z/OS OVERVIEW
UIM can integrate with IBM z/OS systems for monitoring purposes. There are several different probes that can be used to monitor z/OS systems. I have included a link for each probe, which provides a summary of how the probe monitors the system. I have also included the software and hardware requirements for these probes as well.
1. zstorage - Feeds metrics data for the mainframe storage environment into CA UIM.
2. zops - Feeds metrics data from the z/OS operating system into CA UIM.
3. zvm - Feeds metric data from the mainframe z/VM hypervisor into CA UIM.
CA Unified Infrastructure Management Operations for z Systems (probe name: zops)
CA Unified Infrastructure Management Storage for z Systems (probe name: zstorage)
CA Unified Infrastructure Management for z/VM Systems (probe name: zvm)
CA Unified Infrastructure Management for zNetwork (probe name: znetwork)
The zdataservice must also be deployed to implement these solutions (probe name: zdataservice)
