CA Application Performance Management Agent (APM / Wily / Introscope) CA Application Performance Management (APM / Wily / Introscope) INTROSCOPE

Issue/Introduction

Trying to diagnose a problem with an app and added a large amount of instrumentation to try and locate the offending class/methods. We ran the tests and collected metric data and traces.

Afterwards,, there was some additional testing that needed to take place and the additional instrumentation was rolled back and the JVMs were restarted. The traces are are available and can easily be viewed by changing the Time Window in WebView or Workstation to the testing time.

However, we are unable to view the metric data. The folders containing the elevated instrumentation no longer appears and the previous instances of the agent to not appear in the "mount agent" list. Please note that the classes in the trace are still listed in the trace by the folder path where the classes were (and we would like them to be..). How can I access the metric data if the folders have dropped out of the metric tree and the old agent is unavailable to mount because the agent is running?

This is with APM 10.5 but it is still a problem in 10.7.

Cause

Metric is inactive.

Environment

Release : APM 10,5 & 10.7

Component : APM Agents

Resolution

Show Inactive Metrics by right clicking on the Agent in Workstation/Webview.
