What is the best practice for where to save your vertica database backups?

Any version of CAPM

Resolution

Saving a backup of the vertica database to the same partition as the database itself is not recommended.  It is also not recommended to do a database backup to another partition on the same disk drive because if the disk fails you lose everything.  Best practice is to use another disk for vertica backups, or save the backup to a remote location
