Server or 404 error when trying to access an artifact using Global search also seen as Cannot find object to read error

Issue/Introduction
When searching for an artifact or Portfolio Item using the global search and trying to open it, a 404 or server error may appear even though the item is showing up in the "in open projects" tab. Also seen as "Cannot find object to read" error.
Resolution
Navigate to the Project that the artifact / Portfolio Item is associated with (any page will do).
Click the Home tab and select Recycle Bin
Use Advanced filters and under field select ID
Input the name of the item in question.
Using the gear icon, either restore or delete the item.
If you restore the item you will now be able to access it.
