What is the recommended method to add the SVC for CA VISION:REPORT (QUICKJOB)?

The recommended methodology for dynamically adding the required SVC for CA Vision: Report (QUIKVSAM) is to utilize the CAS9 startup process and use the following command statement:

 

 The STEPLIB in which the QUIKSVC and QUIKINIT modules are located must be APF authorized.

CA Vision: Report is basically using this dynamic SVC for the QUIKVSAM utility. CA Vision: Report uses the Extended SVC Router which implies that certain SVC routines, such as SVC 109, are just another router. This way you can choose the SVC number you want to use. Please note than in the example above that PARM(SVC109(98)) the ESR is translated to an Extended SVC called 98. Normally this would be a reserved SVC for IBM but with the utilization of ESR you can circumvent the restriction dynamically.
