Migrating applications from 12.0 to 12.2

Issue/Introduction

We tried to export applications to xml files from CA WA version 12.0, and tried to import same xml files into CA WA version 12.2, but we are getting the following message: 

 "The file does not represent an Application or is corrupted." 

 Can you advise on the proper method for migrating applications/jobs from version 12.0 to 12.2?

Environment

Release : 11.3.x/12.x

Component : ESP DSERIES WORKLOAD AUTOMATION (DE)

Cause

The application artifacts are not compatible.

Resolution

The proper method to migrate applications/jobs from DE version 12.0 to 12.2 is using the migration utility that is shipped with the DE Server 12.2. You can only use the import/export (imexutil) utility to move application artifacts of the same DE version. See the documentation for more information; 

"We recommend that you use the import/export utility only between the servers of the same release. For example, you can import Applications from one 12.0 server to another 12.0 server but not between a 12.0 server and a 12.0.01 server. To migrate artifacts between the servers of different releases, use the migration method."
