Issue/Introduction

Can the database file ALLOCATE jobs use tape instead of dasd, especially for cycles of detail level data?

Resolution

The MICS DETAIL thru YEARS (online databases) are not suitable for tape-directed (sequential format) as they are accessed randomly during MICS operational-job processing. With that being said, some of the analyzers do provide 'Detail' Tape Processing for certain files.
