We would like to modify the OOTB error message from the following error below.
CAL-06039: Action Item Status cannot be updated because process instance is closed.
Unfortunately at this time there is no way to modify those messages. You could use our ideation process to create an enhancement.
One of the reason behind these error messages is when the process is old, and the notification is still there.
The recommendation would be to check on the jobs:
Delete process Instance
And make sure you schedule them to run in a correlated way to get some consistency.
