Issue/Introduction

On Unix / Linux users can have the shell disabled in /etc/passwd due to security reasons.

Is it possible to set as administrator for Dollar Universe processes a system user with the shell disabled (nologin)?
Is it possible to launch jobs as a Submission Account pointing to a system user with the shell disabled (nologin)?

Is it possible to set as administrator for Dollar Universe processes a system user with the shell disabled (nologin)?

No, it is not possible as the Dollar Universe process need a user with a valid shell (ksh / bash).
When launching the product, the command "su -c username ..." will fail with the following error in universe.log:
This account is currently not available. 

Is it possible to launch jobs as a Submission Account pointing to a system user with the shell disabled (nologin)?
Yes, submission works fine with a nologin user if the Uproc is not Interactive.
