Issue/Introduction

The client will upgrade their PDT and PPADB2 from R19.0 to R20.0. He found the following new members in the SAMPJCL library.
DBM03ALU, DBM06MKD and DBM15CSU.
The client wants to know whether he must run the above new JCL members. They have only the contracts for the PDT and PPADB2.

In the installation for the CA-DB2 R20.0, the following new JCL members are seen in the SAMPJCL library.
DBM03ALU, DBM06MKD and DBM15CSU
Must the above new JCL members be run for the installation of the CA-DB2 even if only specific products are installed?

Resolution

Yes. Those JCL members must be run though only specific products are installed.

The DBMAREAD documentation in hlq.SAMPJCL is a bit misleading. FMIDs CSQ2100 and CINSK00 are not optional and must be installed when installing the CA DB2 tools r20. Thus the following members within hlq.SAMPJCL are required:
DBM03ALU- Allocate product USS Datasets
DBM06MKD- Allocate product USS Directories
DBM15CSU- Customize SMP/E CSI for USS

The USS related members are new and required for expected new development within the r20 release.
