Unable to Export Collaboration Action Items to Excel

Issue/Introduction

There's no option to export action items to excel from a project's collaboration tab, and if you add the action item portlet to a custom tab, when you export to excel, the excel worksheet is blank with no data.

Resolution

This is working as designed. One option would be to create a custom Action Item portlet, where you can then export the data to excel. However, this portlet would generate all action items. A filter could be created to filter on object type of project, but it will filter on all projects by default.

Steps to create this portlet:

1. Go to Administration->Studio-Portlets->New->Grid Portlet 
2. Enter required information and for Data Provider, select Action Item System Data Provider
3. Add the preferred columns and filter fields to the portlet 

If you add this portlet to a tab in PPM, then this one allows you to export to excel.
