Issue/Introduction

This article details troubleshooting steps for scenarios where expected users fail to be created in the Provisioning Store or Identity Manager directory following an Explore-Correlate task.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.5 & 15

Cause

The issue typically occurs when the target endpoint Organizational Unit (OU) does not contain the expected account, or the exploration scope is incorrectly configured.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, perform the following verification steps:

  1. Verify Endpoint OU Contents

    • Log in to the target endpoint.
    • Confirm that the expected user account exists within the specific Organizational Unit (OU) defined in your Explore-Correlate task.
    • Ensure the account has not been deleted or moved.
  2. Validate Exploration Scope

    • Check the Explore-Correlate task configuration in Identity Manager.
    • Confirm that the endpoint and OU path specified in the task exactly match the location of the target user account on the endpoint.
  3. Review Correlation Rules

    • Ensure that the correlation rules are correctly defined to match the attributes of the target user account. If the attributes do not match, the correlation will fail, preventing the user from being created.
