Does CA Easytrieve or CA Pan/SQL use PSASTAK? Are these products affected by: z/OS 2.1 PTF UA96468 APAR OA55240 z/OS 2.2 PTF UA96477 APAR OA54807 z/OS 2.3 PTF UA96475 APAR OA55233 ?
Release: Component: EZTPLS
CA Easytrieve and CA PanSQL do not use PSASTAK and are not affected by these APARs. No action is required. See additional information below, please.
The following IBM PTFs/APARs introduce the OSPROTECT system parameter which specifies the operating system protection mode for unauthorized programs and users:
z/OS 2.1 PTF UA96468 APAR OA55240 z/OS 2.2 PTF UA96477 APAR OA54807 z/OS 2.3 PTF UA96475 APAR OA55233
Once one of these APARs is applied, IHAPSA field PSASTAK is no longer the beginning of the normal FRR stack. PSACSTK is an existing pointer to the beginning of the normal FRR stack. Software that references PSASTAK must be converted to use PSACSTK as the pointer to the normal FRR stack. The PSASTAK is related to recovery management and the apar itself changes the definition of the PSASTAK field in module IHAPSA to PSACSTK and software continuing to reference PSASTAK can receive a S0C4.
