Issue/Introduction

The following message is printed frequently in our smps.log.  Authentication timeout attribute found, ignored during authorization

Is this a sign of a failure or something we should otherwise be concerned with?

Cause

This message is printed in the smps.log when an OnAuthAccept timeout response has been bound to an Authorization rule rather than an Authentication rule.  This is a mismatch between the response type and the rule type such that the response will never fire and thus the information printed to the log.

Resolution

To eliminate this message, find any OnAuthAccept timeout responses that are bound to Authorization rules and rebind them to Authentication rules or delete them if no longer needed.
