Issue/Introduction

When checking out to a remote Linux agent, getting this error:

E03020028: The File Agent error for item <agent hostname>\\/<folder>/<filename>: Permission denied. It might have no access, can't replace read_only file or the file is being used by another process..

 

Environment

Harvest Software Change Manager all versions

Cause

For an error message like this, check the following things:

• It might have no access - Does the user connecting to the remote agent have read and write permissions to the target folder of the checkout process
• can't replace read_only file - The file being checked out may already exist and be marked as read-only, so cannot be replaced
• the file is being used by another process - If another process has control of the file, it cannot be replaced until the lock is released

Resolution

Change the permission to the OS User to access to that folder or change the account to someone who has access to that folder.
