Rally - Can't convert Defects into User Stories

Issue/Introduction

Users are getting an error when trying to convert Defects to US.  Validation Error: HierarchicalRequirement.Work Type should not be null, or similar to the following;

Resolution

This custom field is required which exists in user story but not in defect.  The conversion cannot happen unless the field exists and has a value in the defect.  The customer can either make the field not required in the user story, or create the same field in the defect and either make the defect field required or fill in a value for it.
