API could not be removed from API Groups

Issue/Introduction

If by mistake an API was disabled and deleted from the API list without first removing the API from the APPs and the API Groups it is listed in - the option to remove the API from the API Group will be greyed out and it can not be deleted.

Environment

Layer7 API Developer Portal 4.2.x

Cause

The reason why the API is greyed out is the fact that the API Group was added to the APP and not the API itself and thus there is no option to delete the APIs and the API Group.

Resolution

The correct process to remove an API is documented. One might be able to remove the API from the APP/API Groups list after it was marked as deleted as well.

If this was not done by mistake - one can follow the below:
- De-associate the API Group from the APP and associate a different API Group to this APP.

- Now the API can be removed from the API Group.

- De-associate the new API Group from the APP and associate the original API Group to this APP.
