Issue/Introduction

Applying PTF RO96807 into a CA IDMS TEST region which is on the same LPAR as a PROD CV and there is only one APFLIB loadlib.

The HOLD action indicates CAIRIM needs to be run to refresh some APFLIB modules:
IDMSMSVA, PMRTDATA, RHDCSSFM, CAIXDOA$

The PTF updates RHDCOESA and other CV modules as well. 

Should CAIRIM be run to refresh the modules if applying the PTF to the TEST region only?

Or should it not be run until it is also applied to the production CV?

Before implementing the PTF in the TEST CV the CAIRIM REFRESH needs to be run to reload the 4 APFLIB  modules into the LPA ECSA storage. Otherwise the new functionality will not work.
The APF modules are downward compatible so will still work with CVs that don't have RO96807 applied.

Use the following CAIRIM syntax to refresh the modules:

PRODUCT(CA IDMS) VERSION(GJJ0) INIT(GJJ0INIT) PARM(REFRESH(RHDCSSFM))
PRODUCT(CA IDMS) VERSION(GJJ0) INIT(GJJ0INIT) PARM(REFRESH(IDMSMSVA))
PRODUCT(CA IDMS) VERSION(GJJ0) INIT(GJJ0INIT) PARM(REFRESH(CAIXDOA$))
PRODUCT(CA IDMS) VERSION(GJJ0) INIT(GJJ0INIT) PARM(REFRESH(PMRTDATA))

All  IDMS CVs and IDMS batch Jobs must be stopped before running the REFRESH.
