Issue/Introduction

What are the options for shutting down MIM?
What is the difference between a shutdown command and modify/cancel command? 

Resolution

Options for shutting down MIM:

  1. CANCEL MII - brings MII down on the local system. It would then need to be FREED from another system
  2. F MII,SHUTDOWN LOCAL - bring down MII on the local system. It then needs to be FREED
  3. F MII,SHUTDOWN GLOBAL - bring it down on all systems
  4. F MII,SHUTDOWN - behavior depends on SET MIM SHUTDOWN= option
  5. P MII - issues a MIM0060A WTOR which can then be replied to with LOCAL, GLOBAL, FREE, etc.
