Banner Agent does not start after upgrading Applications Manager

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading Applications Manager, Banner Agents to does not start and the below error is seen in the Java Web Client:

ErrorMsg: Database login error
Details: Error connecting to the database. Check the JDBC login assigned to the agent and verify that it is correct.
java.sql.SQLException: JDBCConnection createConnection:

Additionally, the below error can be seen in the Agent logs:

AgentService: BannerAgentImpl: getConnection: <connection info>
ErrorMsg: AwE-9999 Internal error
Details: JDBCConnection createConnection: <connection info>
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:382)
 

Cause

Incompatible ojdbc.jar version

Resolution

If there was a change to the ojdbc.jar version during the upgrade, use a different ojdbc.jar version or revert to the previous working ojdbc.jar
