Error: Sm_AgentApi_Init Failed in Web Agent at start time

Issue/Introduction

 

When starting the Web Server, the Web Agent doesn't start. The Windows
Event log shows :

  Sm_AgentApi_Init Failed. 
  SiteMinder agent has encountered initialization errors and will not service requests. 

 

Resolution

 

Use the IP address in the HCO or make the hostname from the HCO
resolvable in the hosts file of the Web Agent OS to solve the issue.
