Issue/Introduction

Spectrum not discovering connections between Brocade models.

Cause

The Brocade devices support the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) but LLDP is not configured on the devices.

Resolution

Configure LLDP on the devices using the following configuration parameter:

snmp-server view NETENG-SNMP-VIEW 1.0.8802.1 included

After adding the above configuration parameter on the device, the model in Spectrum needs to be either deleted and recreated or reconfigured using the following steps:

1. Find and select the model in Spectrum

2. Right mouse click on the model and select Reconfiguration -> Rediscover SNMP MIBS from the menu

3. Right mouse click on the model and select Reconfiguration -> Reconfigure model

Spectrum will now recognize the device supports LLDP and use LLDP for connecting the models.
