Service Catalog 17.2 installation fails

Error during installation and then configuration mdb failed
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

The install machine has some disk fragmentation issue. 
Hence it is not able to allocate heap memory and throws an error


Service Management 17.2


Catalog executable uses its own Java 7 Virtual Machine internally and needs heap space. 

1. Add a below mentioned System Environment Variable
Parameter: _JAVA_OPTIONS
Value: -Xms128M -Xmx256M
2. Restart the common installer from the media and follow the wizard screens to configure as per environment

3. The installer will trigger and display the wizard. However, while launching the executable it performs some internal operation allocating the complete heap space.
Followed the below steps to relaunch the common installer:

Please run the below command under the folder "DBCleanupUtility" from the media

1. DBCleanupUtility.bat
 - Once completed cleanup of a specific product follow next step

2. Restarted the machine
3. Triggered common installer and follow the wizard screens to configure as per environment

4. Installs the Common DB , Catalog installs and MDB task will be completed

5. If EEM deployment fails then follow this article - kb000131102.
6. Installation should complete without any issues
