Issue/Introduction

We were testing 4.7 upgrade in some DEV environments. Since we are now given 4.8 Beta release, we need to downgrade the servers where we installed 4.7 to 4.6 and then try upgrading to 4.8 as this is what we need to do in our PROD environment which is still on 4.6.

Is there an easy way for me to downgrade from 4.7 to 4.6?

Environment

TDM 4.7

Resolution

  1. You will need to restore the backup of the database that you took prior to the upgrade to 4.7
  2. Backup all your configure files that are unique to your installation.
  3. Uninstall TDM and Portal.
  4. Install 4.6 TDM.
  5. Make sure the Database Maintenance is run.
  6. Make sure that the Projects look valid by doing a quick smoke test via observation and perhaps a short publish.
  7. Install any TDM patches to get to the same version as prod.
  8. Install the version of TDM portal.
  9. Re-apply the special configure files unique to your system.
  10. Start the Services with the new configure files.
  11. Test and verify Success.
