Can ad_response monitor a Read-Only Domain Controller (RODC) or be configured with a read-only user?

Issue/Introduction

Can ad_response monitor a Read-Only Domain Controller (RODC)?  Or is it possible to configure a user with "read only" rights for monitoring with the probe?

Resolution

The ad_response probe does not support monitoring Read Only DC or read-only user configurations.

To gather metrics, the probe makes a modification to an unused LDAP attribute and then checks how long it takes that modification to show up/replicate. For this reason the probe requires the ability to write to the LDAP attributes as well as to read one.
