Issue/Introduction
One of the client's groups are unable to list their reports in their CA View database, receiving error message:
ACF 99913 ACF2 VIOLATION 00.00.N076699 AAAAAA.BBBB.CCCCC.D.EEEE.RMODBASE.D0000001
However, when the group uses other CA Views to list the reports to access on other LPARs (within the same PLEX), they are able to
Note: The error message says that the violation is for a CA Deliver database.
Environment
CA Deliver - All Releases
Resolution
Regarding the ACF2 message:
ACF2 VIOLATION-rc, req, lid, vol, name, dsn, exit
Reason:
The CA ACF2 security routines detected an unauthorized attempt to access a protected data set or volume.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The activities were:
. At the client's last menu selection, along with other selections of View and Deliver databases, access goes straight to the View logo panel.
. User was in mode EXPO.
. Error S913 results when a report is selected.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Comments:
. There is a dataset-level security in this particular LPAR, that is not in the client's other LPARs.
. A CA Deliver database is opened with UPDATE access required, if through a XMS region.
. It is possible that a Deliver database's data extent could be protected, from some users.
. If reports are in CA View in EXP or EXPO mode, as they came from Deliver, then the Deliver database needs to be accessible, to obtain report attributes.
. With that, there must be one type of security active on the LPAR where the message is received, and another type of security active on the other LPAR where actions are allowed.
