Portal unable to fetch roles for target permission list

Issue/Introduction

Scenario - When enabling a risk policy for the Identity Portal environment, CA Identity Manager roles are mapped in target permissions, however CA Identity Portal is unable to fetch a list of roles for target permissions on the Identity Governance connector.  The Identity Governance server logs the below error:

SEVERE [com.sun.jersey.spi.container.ContainerResponse] (default task-18) The RuntimeException could not be mapped to a response, re-throwing to the        HTTP container: java.lang.NullPointerException

        at com.eurekify.dal.SageDalImpl.getConfigurationRoles(SageDalImpl.java:1040) [classes:]
 

Environment

CA Identity Portal 14.1
CA Identity Suite 14.1

Cause

This issue occurs when their are multiple Universes and some of those are empty.

Resolution

This Issue was resolved by purging the empty universe from the DB (Home - Administration - Settings - Purge Data)
