Issue/Introduction

Alert Process defined on a NOTIFY statement did not fire when a job abended.

I have an application, that is setup with an NOTIFY statement to execute an alert process when a monthly job executes. The problem is that the job failed today, but the notification alert process did not execute. The very same job failed on 03/01/2019 and the notification alert process worked and executed. Why did my ALERT no trigger when job failed?

Environment

Release:
Component: ESPWA

Resolution

The reason the alert did not fire is because the ALERT  is no longer defined to ESP. Define the ALERT back to ESP using the ALERTDEF command.

EXAMPLE:
OPER ALERTDEF ADD ID(xxxx)

Additional Information
