Issue/Introduction

In Identity Portal environments, the Identity Manager (IdM) Connector may fail to initialize, resulting in a Failed to start Adapter: [com.idmlogic.sigma.connector.ca.v2.CaimAdapter] error. This issue typically occurs during WSDL generation when specific Active Directory management tasks are enabled for web services.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.5 & 15

Identity Portal 14.5 & 15

Cause

The WSDL parser encountered in Identity Portal cannot successfully process the 'View Active Directory Group' or 'Modify Active Directory Group' admin tasks when they are exposed via web services. These tasks cannot be used directly from the Portal interface, and their inclusion in the WSDL results in a parsing deadlock or schema error at the connector level.

Resolution

Method 1: Disable Task Webservices (Recommended)

  1. Navigate to the Identity Manager User Console.
  2. Locate the 'View Active Directory Group' and 'Modify Active Directory Group' admin tasks.
  3. Disable the Webservice option for both tasks.
  4. Use 'View Active Directory Account' or 'Modify Active Directory Account' tasks for group management within the Portal instead.

Method 2: Exclude Tasks from WSDL Compilation If the webservices must remain enabled in Identity Manager for other integrations, exclude them from the Portal Connector:

  1. Log in to the Portal Admin UI and navigate to Setup > Connectors.
  2. Edit the existing IM Connector.
  3. On the Webservices tab, click Show advanced properties.
  4. Locate the No Compile List field.
  5. Add the following task tags (comma-separated): ViewActiveDirectoryGroupViewActiveDirectoryGroupQueryViewActiveDirectoryGroupSearchModifyActiveDirectoryGroupModifyActiveDirectoryGroupQueryModifyActiveDirectoryGroupSearch.
  6. Save changes and restart the Connector.
