Issue/Introduction
Some Dollar Universe 6 Nodes get the Security corrupted ( either Security Roles or Alerting Rules disappear) after UVMS restart. As a result, the Dollar Universe commands (uxordre / uxadd fla...) may fail due to a wrong security in the node.
The following kind of messages can be found in universe.log at the time that UVMS restarts (showing wrong figures for the amount of "security roles" or "alert rules" ): |ERROR|X|IO |pid=p.t| o_sync_uvms | Unable to connect to UVMS with passphrase |INFO |X|IO |pid=p.t| io_sync_roles | Full sync of 0 security roles |INFO |X|IO |pid=p.t| io_sync_alert_rules | Full sync of 0 alert rule |INFO |X|IO |pid=p.t| uvms_sync_func | UVMS synchronization established again (1)
Environment
UVMS 6
Cause
Upon startup, UVMS systematically reordered the list of the UVMS hostnames to place the one corresponding to the value of U_LOCALHOSTNAME on top. This resulted in a database update and thus a synchronization with Dollar Universe nodes registered to the UVMS.
Resolution
Immediate Workaround: Rename the file <dollar_universe_folder>\data\u_sync.dta on the impacted Dollar Universe Nodes to force a Full Synchronization
Long-term Workaround: Disable periodic UVMS Server restart
Solution: Upgrade UVMS to version 6.9.62 or superior.
From version 6.This reordering is now done only if the hostname corresponding to the value of U_LOCALHOSTNAME is not on top.
Fix version(s): Component: Univiewer.Management.Server Dollar Universe 6.9.62 - Released 25th March 2019
