Resolution

This issue occurs if the two users, the user submitting the timesheet and the user reviewing the submitted timesheet, have a different option set for their Display Unit setting on their timesheets. The user submitting the timesheet has their Display Units set to Days, whereas the user reviewing the timesheet has their Display Units set to Hours.

When the user submitting their timesheet enters 8 on their timesheet, they are really entering 8 days because of the Display Unit they have selected. The user reviewing the timesheet, has their Display Units to Hours, so these 8 days display as 64 hours.

To correct the amounts, the timesheet submitter needs to first change their Display Units back to Hours by clicking on the Configure link on the bottom right corner of the timesheet. Then the timesheet needs to be adjusted.
