Issue/Introduction

PAM Client shows the error “PAM-UI-1702: No features are currently available .”
This error happens only to remote clients who are connecting through VPN which use TCP port mapping.

It happens consistently on both Windows and MAC machines.
Without VPN remote connection this error does not happen.

Customer has applied 3.2.4 but the issue persists.
This issue did not happen in 2.8.3.

Environment

PAM 3.2.4

Resolution

The reason why CA PAM Client does not work any longer in a VPN using TCP port mapping is expected - in 2.x it was possible to establish a SSL/VPN tunnel for any application through PAM.
This feature has been removed in 3.x and is documented here:

https://docops.ca.com/ca-privileged-access-manager/3-0-1/EN/release-information/features-no-longer-available-in-3-0-1
"SSL/VPN Service"

Due to the removal of this feature also the PAM Client / PAM UI does not work in a VPN using TCP port mapping.

If you want this feature being reintroduced, please do not hesitate opening an Enhancement Request / Idea in our Communities following the attached procedure and our Product Management Team will evaluate it accordingly.
