Postgres database creation fails when special characters are used in password

CA Application Performance Management Agent (APM / Wily / Introscope) INTROSCOPE


During a new APM Database Installation, it fails with the error below. The drive exists and permissions are fine.

Create Database Failed
Status: ERROR
Additional Notes: ERROR - The system cannot find the drive specified.
psql: invalid port number: "W5{"
The process tried to write to a nonexistent pipe.
(STDOUT: CreateDb exited with code 1
Install failed due to error code: 1. Please check "D:\Program Files\CA APM\Introscope10.7.0.45/install/schematools.log" for more details.


There is a pipe sign is in the password. 
The APM install script doesn't like any special characters in the PostgreSQL install password 


APM 10.7 on Windows Server 2016.


This is a known issue. 
Complete the install with a password without any special characters.
Change it later after the install
