Unable to select the context items from drop down menu

Issue/Introduction

Context menu items from the drop-down lists are not working. The images next to context menu items disappeared and cannot select the individual items in the list.

Environment

BUSINESS SERVICE INSIGHT 8.3.5
Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1, Windows 10
 

Cause

Windows Update (KB4487044) breaks paths containing back slashes in IE 11. Below is referenced document from Microsoft -

Resolution

Note that the patch description for - kb4487021 applies to: Windows 10, version 1709.

KB4486565 applies to: Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1

Please let the client choose the right patch to fix the issue for this known issue 
"After installing this update, Internet Explorer may fail to load images with a backslash (\) in their relative source path." 

Note: This issue is resolved in KB4486565 for client specific windows 7 environment.
