A DMS archive or backup can produce the following error below:
ADSDF102 4106 ADR793E (XXX)-XXXXX(XX), DATA SET XXXXXXXX.XXXXXXXX.XXXXXXXX ON VOLUME XXXXXX IS AN INCONSISTENT PDSE AND CANNOT BE DUMPED.
Release: Disk-Backup and Restore 12.5
The problem happens after a PDSE was restored by Disk.
To fix the problem, you need to install the PTF SO00461.
Before the PTF installation:
Between the time the PTF is installed and all PDSE's are restored, they are candidate for a failure at next Backup or Archive.
As a circumvention, try to set RECATMIG to a value of Y and re-run the job to see if that fixes the error.
If that does not work, you can pre-allocate a new PDSE and restore the data into it.
Locating bad PDSE.
You can use to locate a bad PDSE an IEHLIST. The IEHLIST will check the information for the PDSE status. If you see ' I ' as PDSE indicator that means the PDSE is Okay, if you get instead ' ? ' then the PDSE is impacted.
After the PTF installation:
When the PTF SO00461 is installed, the Restore makes the VVDS entry to be correct.
