Oracle announced that they will not post further updates of Java SE 8 to its public download sites for commercial use after January 2019. Customers who need continued access to critical bug fixes and security fixes as well as general maintenance for Java SE 8 or previous versions can get long term support through Oracle Java SE Advanced Desktop, or Oracle Java SE Suite. This brings up some questions about what is CA/Broadcom's policy on the on-going support for Java used with the CA Process Automation product. This knowledge article addresses questions around ongoing support.
What is the CA/Broadcom Process Automation policy for the Java support policy changes in 2019?
Process Automation 4.3 SP03, 4.3 SP04 and upcoming releases for Windows/Linux
As Java is not delivered with Process Automation, but required in order to run the application, we are currently looking into being able to support using OpenJDK 8 for version 4.3 SP03 and 4.3 SP04. If you require security updates for OracleJDK 8 (or the JRE for agents) prior to our validation/certification of OpenJDK, you will need to have a valid maintenance contract with Oracle.
For any new release (tentatively 4.4) we are looking into supporting both OpenJDK 11 and Oracle JDK 11.
