SiteMinder Policy Server log filling up with ODBC log entries in smtracedefault.log file

Issue/Introduction

 

Observed the Policy Server, and the traces filled up with below log entries.

  [03/06/2019][05:12:25.368][05:12:25][24380][3707214704][CSmDbConnection.cpp:241] [CSmDbConnection::ReleaseReference][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][Release connection reference. ReferenceCount = '5'] 

why Policy Server writes so many entries and how to configure the Profiler to get rid of these log entries. 

 

Environment

 

Policy Server version R12.8.x

 

Resolution

 

The Policy Server writes these lines when it removes references to unused connections. 

This can be removed  by configuring the Profiler template from the SMConsole and remove the following component  from the profiler list.
