CA Automic Workload Automation - Automation Engine

Issue/Introduction

Automation Engine, Utilities and Service Manager do not start on Linux due to the operating system libraries provided with the IMAGE of Automation Engine 12.1.X and 12.2.X.

The following libraries are provided with the IMAGE of Automation Engine. All are located in the AutomationEngine/bin, Utilities/bin and ServiceManager/bin:

libgcc_s.so
libgcc_s.so.1
libstdc++.so
libstdc++.so.6
libstdc++.so.6.0.3

Cause

The linux libraries are included with the binaries as older versions of linux did not always have them by default, so CA Automic included them so that our processes would still work in case the linux system did not.

Environment

Release: AUTWAB99000-12.2-Automic Workload Automation-Base Edition

Resolution

The issue can be resolved by y deleting the following lib files from AutomationEngine/bin, Utilities/bin and ServiceManager/bin:

libgcc_s.so

libstdc++.so
libstdc++.so.6
libstdc++.so.6.0.3
