Issue/Introduction

IAM will not start and contains the warning: "Unable to use InetAddress.getLocalHost() to resolve address."

Environment

Devtest install in CentOS 7 or similar OS.

Resolution

The command InetAddress.getLocalHost() is having issues resolving the host name.

From a command prompt run:
ifconfig
to determine the IP address.
Example: 10.130.110.25

run:
hostname
to determine the hostname
Example: myCentOS7

Edit /etc/hosts
ensure these or similar lines exist:
127.0.0.1   localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
::1         localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6

add this line (example - use the IP address and hostname from above):
10.130.110.25   myCentOS7

Then edit DevTest_Home/IdentityAccessManager/bin/standalone.conf
Change this line:
JAVA_OPTS="$JAVA_OPTS -Djboss.bind.address.management=0.0.0.0 -Djboss.bind.address=0.0.0.0"
to (use the IP address from above):
JAVA_OPTS="$JAVA_OPTS -Djboss.bind.address.management=10.130.110.25 -Djboss.bind.address=10.130.110.25"

Edit dradis.properties and lisa.properties. In each file, uncomment and change:
iam.server.url=https://localhost:51111/auth
to (use the IP address from above):
iam.server.url=https://10.130.110.25:51111/auth

Restart all DevTest components.
