Issue/Introduction

Why do I get the following error when running some commands in batch?

SFC0-82 NOT ENOUGH SPACE ON SCRATCH-FILE-7, RC=00, WIP=E1, MODULE=GFCJ.

Environment

Release: 11.3 (only)
WA CA 7 Edition

Resolution

There is not enough scratch space allocated. You will need to increase the scratch track allocation. To do this, you will need to add/change the SWFTRK value on the DAIO statement in the CA 7 init file. You should specify SWFTRK=255 which is the recommended value.

Example of the DAIO statement:

DAIO,IOBS=10,DASD=3390,BUFSIZE=1024,RECORDS=28,SWFTRK=255

To view your CA 7 init file online, you can issue CA 7 top line command:

LPDS,DSN=*INIT*

Look for the DAIO statement.
