Is there a command that will delete a report temporarily brought back to the disk layer?
Resolution
A recall of a report to tape, changing the location from PTAP to PTMP, is to have it on disk temporarily.
The length of time (in generations) that a recalled report is kept on disk is based on SARINIT HOLDTEMP=nnn.
If HOLDTEMP=0, then a report recalled temporarily would be expired off the disk layer at the next View backup.
If the report is to be deleted from the disk layer immediately, without wait for at least the next backup:
. Attach to the View Sysout Selection List, and issue a "DD" line command, which will remove the report from the disk layer.
. Run SARBCH, with a transaction of "/DELETE ID=... GEN=... SEQ=... DISK".
As the report, once it is backed up, will be on tape for the retention of the report, there is no migrating it back to tape.
