Issue/Introduction

Using the JCLCheck runtime option SECURITY (example: SEC(DASD,STOR,MGMT,PROG,SHRUPD,NOLOG)), JCLCheck returns error "CAY6368E MAXIMUM SECURITY ERROR MESSAGES EXCEEDED"

Error message CAY6368 is documented as follows: 
CAY6368E
     MAXIMUM SECURITY ERROR MESSAGES EXCEEDED
Reason:
    More than 72 errors were encountered under a security violation. No further security errors were printed.
Action:
    Correct and resubmit.

 


How to eliminate error "CAY6368E MAXIMUM SECURITY ERROR MESSAGES EXCEEDED"?

Environment

CA JCLCheck release 12.0
Operating system: z/OS

Resolution

- The limitation of displaying 72 security errors is with using JCLCheck online.  (JCLCheck online is !JCK, EJCK, and JCLCheck Foreground invocation.)   After 72 security errors are displayed, no further security errors will be issued.  JCLCheck continues to validate the JCL, and displays non-security type errors. 

- There is no limitation to the number of security errors issued when JCLCheck is used in batch mode.

Suggestion:
Run CA JCLCheck in batch mode after getting  "CAY6368E MAXIMUM SECURITY ERROR MESSAGES EXCEEDED".
